No, its rotten. The prior owner put it up and made 3 errors:
  1. Didn't use pressure treated wood (given the cost and the amount of fence I'm not surprised).
  2. Ran the boards across the posts and patched them together with 8" pieces between posts. Nice way to not have to screw 2 boards where they meet at a round post but every one of the patch pieces has rotted.
  3. Painted it with latex paint. No better way to have water get stuck under the paint and rot the wood. I'm going to replace the fence with something. Probably 2x4 knotted wire fencing 5' high around the yard. Might use something more decorative in the area shown in the picture since it is the entry area to the house. Not sure what though.

one channel says we will get snow flurries and another says we'll get an inch, so its a wait and see, would like it to get warm so not only can we plant more but also can throw the chickies out into the big brooder without worrying about them getting cold
