Some spiders are killed by contact so if the poison does not hit them, they will not die.

Hopefully there will be less of them

This is going to sound a bit off, but if all else fails, go find a couple of wolf spiders and release them in your house. They are ugly, they will not bite a human, and they will kill any spider in their space. When we first moved to Germany we got ate alive. one good wolf spider solved all the problems.

ETA: The kids cried a lot when their grandma killed our wolf.

Wow, I had no idea! I'll remember that if we ever have a problem.

Where would you get a wolf spider anyway?
