I am so far behind.

What did I miss?
I was busy last week getting organised for our DD's 13th birthday (how did that happen?!).
And I have 18 Araucana eggs all cooking away, and all with life growing inside them. We are 5 days in. 10 my DH picked up and 8 were mailed to my parents (from Dunedin so the other end of the country) who then brought them up to us. They were in much better condition than the eggs I'd got from that other seller and I think they were packed better as well. They came through a courier company rather than the general post which I think helped as well.
We have sold 2 of our Muscovy drakes and they are being picked up on Friday. They are starting to give the girls a hard time, and they kept chasing DS (they don't like his shiny red and black gumboots for some reason). The 3rd boy we are keeping because he learnt quickly to keep his distance, but the other 2 continue to challenge even me occasionally. I know the signs now so don't let them have an inch, but I think the girls will be a lot happier once they are gone.
And we have a little house guest. My Mum had 2 Pekin bantams but one had to be put down by the vet. So she had one lonely little girl. Mum only has large chickens (other than the 2 littlies) and poor little Diamond is terrified of them. So she's staying with us as we had young ones to keep them company, and I was able to get her 2 Pekin friends yesterday. She seems to enjoy their company and nobody is acting the least bit hostile, so I'm going to try getting them all out in the bathroom later with some treats and see how they get on. But they may be staying with us for a bit longer than anticipated because. . .
DH was supposed to take DD down to the orthodontist in Auckland today but my Mum rang last night to say from midday today Auckland is locked down due to 4 people in one family testing positive for Covid-19. That's after 102 days with no community transfer (our only cases are in managed isolation) and this family have no known contact to anyone who works at the border, or at isolation facilities, or even to anyone who has returned from overseas. So that's just a bit scary.
