People instantly started panic buying here, and a lot of people were able to sneak out of Auckland and take off to holiday homes before the road blocks were put in place (I would've had them in place before anything was announced

).
DH picked up our shopping order this morning and he was talking about it with the lady putting the orders out and the potential for those people to be spreading Covid to other centres. Another customer was picking up her shopping at the same time and DH said she looked rather sheepish, and she had a very flash car, so was very likely from Auckland.
I do have to laugh at the panic buying (there goes me doing any more online orders) because NZ produces enough food to feed 40 million people (a lot more than our population of 5 million). We even make toilet paper here.
And just to change the subject I wanted to share a photo of our gorgeous Ffion. I've never had a cuddly chicken, but Ffion always runs up to me for a cuddle. She'll hop up on my knee and snuggle into me, and she'll lie in my arms and snooze and be stroked like a cat and I can even carry her around. She's amazing.

Then she makes me feel bad when I have to leave, running after me.
