Sorry the swelling isn't getting better Sue, that would get old quickly. Will you be able to get your labs done locally?

I'm ok, cats are ornery but fine, chickens are making it through this heat (knock on wood) and DH has been making weekly trips to work on our house in Casper. In other words, nothing much new around here :)
 
The eggs I'm incubating are on day 13 (shipped ones) and day 14 (ones DH picked up). The ones that were picked up from the breeder are all doing beautifully, even the cracked ones (I discovered a second egg with a crack in it). The shipped ones by comparison I only have 4 out of the original 8 still alive. 3 had turned to blood rings by day 7 and another one wasn't looking good on day 10 and yesterday I rechecked it and it had died. Unfortunately my little project needs more of the ones that need to be shipped, so I might have to try hatching some more. It's just amazing the difference between the 2 batches though.

I've read a lot of negative complaints from other members about shipped eggs. Your experience sure reinforces what they have said.

Were your eggs shipped by land or air Jae? Just curious. I've had eggs shipped within our own state and had 100% hatch. Those that had to fly cross country I'm running about 50% on average. That's actually pretty average from what I've read.

The nurse may just do them here monday , that's what we are hoping for anyways.

Sadly most shippers of hatching eggs do not pack the eggs well.
