You would hit a world record high if everyone here sent just the part of their temperature that is above 100°F (37.8°C)Send some heat south would you? It's a cold, windy, sometimes rainy day at my end of the world.
That was very generous! Does he have other chickens to keep her company?so I decided to give mine to him
That would be the end of a lot of hatcheries. We may be seeing the end of shipped chicks
Thank you Bruce! It seems I was AWOL for Michele's birthday.
Happy birthday @The Farmers' Daughter
And Happy Birthday today Renè!

Curious isn't it that the P.O. workers are considered "essential" and have had to work through the pandemic risking their health and that of their families coming into daily contact with all manner of people yet there are those that don't think it is worth keeping afloat. It is all funded by sales of "product", no USPS line item in the federal budget.
Were your eggs shipped by land or air Jae? Just curious. I've had eggs shipped within our own state and had 100% hatch. Those that had to fly cross country I'm running about 50% on average. That's actually pretty average from what I've read.
I do not believe that is the case. I know the prez said they lose money on every shipment but that is totally false. Every package Amazon drops off at a PO for the "last mile" is money in the USPS coffers. The USPS carrier is already going to or past that address anyway. Same thing with the packages UPS drops off at a PO.the deal they made with Amazon is a huge money loser
Oh wow, I would have done the same. Flying and then bouncing about wouldn't be a good combination. They would have been flown up as they came from the bottom of the south island. It was also a toss up between getting them delivered to my parents in town who were coming up on the weekend, so the eggs would have been more than a week old (which is what I did do), or getting them delivered here which means they are in the postal system a little longer as we are rural, and it's potentially a much rougher trip as the rural postie delivers along gravel roads as well as paved. The air cells on them were good, but that could have been from resting for 4 days at my parents (under strict instructions to tip them back and forth twice a day).
Good morning folksTGIF
Good morning Debby, have a great day. Gotta love kirmit.
