The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone! :frow I hope you all have a great weekend! We're having a very windy day, it's blowing in some cooler weather! We'll be in the low 80's for the next few days, then back into the low to mid 90's.

I canned 20 pints of San Marzano tomatoes yesterday. I will be canning our other varieties today. I have no idea how many quarts we will get!

Hi Rene!

Glad you're getting some cooler weather. We are too, it even rained a little this morning.

Good job on the canning, all those pints of tomatoes will be nice to have this winter!

Good morning Debby! Everyone is definitely enjoying the cooler weather. Some rain would be nice...we get very little of it this time of year!

It will be great to have them. I used 2 quarts of them yesterday to make spaghetti sauce, threw in peppers and fresh herbs from the garden, onion from the store and a lb of hamburger from the beef we bought from our friend! My husband brought in a spaghetti squash and I roasted it! Dinner was very yummy! I love knowing where my food comes from! Leftover sauce in the freezer for a few more meals!

Your dinner sounds good!

Good morning everyone!

Sharron, glad the roofers weren't hurt. How's your spearmint? Good luck with your juice project!

Hi IM, it's nice you'll have a bit cooler weather today!

Hi Bob & Sue, enjoy your Saturday!
the roofers are ok i think, they were yesterday, the father landed on his feet, then fell backwards and landed on his son, but did hit his head pretty good on the house , will know more if he comes back to put the last piece on( its no big deal)
spearmint will probably come back next season, where they landed . if not, thats ok, the other spearmint will fill in. its a big patch

This was another good one. We have a thing at the local grocery called pick 5. Pick any 5 packs with the label and it's $20. Two of my five last week were stew meat and stir fry beef.
we have that too but since we have our own meat now, haven't used it

I hope both of them are ok and soreness is the worst of it. I would guess falling is an occupational hazard for a roofer.
