I have lots of catching up to do... hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a good Monday & Tuesday so far :)
I just got my Christmas present from my son, of course I had to open it! He made me cry with this painting, it's my old dog Trixie Bellina...

He sent me this one too (it's beautiful, but that doggy face just made me melt)...

:love He's the best kid any parent could wish for!
WOW! your son did that?! He is very talented, its beautiful and looks like he captured Trixie's cute face wow!

I'm glad that you are getting a break...hubby's are great that way! 💞
How nice to have an office! I currently have a desk in the Kitchen, which is where my computer sits. I will be commandeering our daughters old room and will turn it into my office/craft room! Thankfully I don't have much office work to do anymore, so it will mostly be a fun room...crafting and BYC time! :love
Very nice! I hope to have a craft room, one day. All my stuff is stored in random spots throughout the house and I never know which place I put what
Made some Christmas cookies today. A double batch of butter cookies, and 'Grandma Wallace's' lemon/raisin cookies. 'Grandma' as in my Grandma. We'll make some more tomorrow. Not making nearly as many as usual.
Ooooooooo! Lemon raisin sounds delicious! Funny coincidence, my son's grandma is also a Wallace
It is a very nice place!

I had not been there for quite some time and had forgotten a lot of it.
I've always wanted to visit Yosemite but I've seen pictures. So beautiful I can't even imagine seeing it all in person.

I don’t know how I missed this, what a great kid :love He is so talented!
Hope you don't get hit too badly DMC. We've got a big blob of something coming right for us according to the weather map.

DH is driving up here right now instead of waiting until tomorrow. Sure would stink to have him stuck down south for Christmas.
Hope your DH makes it safely. How’s the little kitty doing down there at the company place? Still hanging around?

We aren’t either. I’m trying for the kids though!

Good morning Bob. You also!

Good morning DMC
I feel it. If it weren't for the kids... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but, we put out all the decorations (nothing outdoor), lots of Christmas music, anda bunch of Christmas movies. It doesn't "feel" like Christmas though.
My daughter got upset when I told her we were not decorating at all since it was just the two of us at home. So I put my little table top tree out and put the presents she send around it and sent her a picture 😊, she was a little happier with that.
 that's cute though, you sound like a nice mommy.
We've got a tree, and the outside and lawn ornaments are up. Princess has some 'Christmas' in every room, but ---------- I'm/we're okay, but this past year is wearing on me. New puppy is for sure a bright spot.
Maybe Maggie Mae was exactly what you needed for Christmas this year. She'll keep your feet warm, and keep you and Princess busy.
I have lots of Christmas stuff up. This is the time of year that makes me feel pure joy. It has been a rough year for most everybody and I wanted something normal.
So true... so very true.
A couple of years ago I told the Princess, "This is the last year for the outdoor display." That very night there is a knock at the door. I open the door and there is a little girl standing with her grandfather behind her. "Mister, I just want to say thank you and tell you how much I like your decorations. I look forward to them every year." Screwed ! because the Princess heard her. Last year it was decided that it is no longer safe to install lights up on the roof. :yesss:
:lau @ roof-lighting safety.
That's a really precious story so now you're committed until you find out she's moved. I am sure a lot of kids admire the outdoor display and she was just the one who said something.

I really wish we would have put up lights this year. We hadn't done it before but then a couple weeks ago, we were driving home and the kids got to see other houses with lights... their faces lit up so bright that we were determined to put lights up this year but, stores were sold out. With COVID, it seems like everyone had the same idea  but next year, there will be lights! Hahaha
I brought home a few happy little trees this weekend  We used to sit and watch Bob Ross every Saturday morning with the kids, loved to watch that guy! He just seemed so nice and down to earth.

Omgoodness I remember watching him as a kid! That fro is iconic.

Is everyone ready for the Christmas star tonight!? 😁😁
Say, whaaaaaaaa?
@sourland and Ron

This little guy hung around my back garden for over a year, then just moved. This will be his second year on new years day at 10pm. :love

I took this picture with great difficulty as he sat on my lap
D'awe!! :love
A long time ago I had the wrong sort of guy. He was so sure of himself he thought he could give away my dog. My son called to ask me why give this dog up that was me from day one, I was like  but tried to control my reaction too him. I asked him how come you think I want my dog to leave, then he gave me his big ultimatum, saying, it's up you, it's me or this dog. I just said, please don't slam the door when you leave. Goodbye

Get rid of him, no chance

Wooo! Good for you! I don't understand why someone [who loves you] would give an ultimatum with an animal. Those eyes are too precious 💜
Hello everybody! I'm sorry I disappeared. DH managed to bring home a bug and shared it with me. It's mostly just an awful nose that runs back, not out, and I still can't shake the cough but at least I'm feeling better as it laid us flat. Thankfully the kids avoided it.

My babies are ok, but not quite as grown up/big as they should be. I'd left them in the incubator thinking that was the best place for them (and being sick I hadn't felt like finding the bits necessary to put together a brooder), but turns out it wasn't. It was just a bit too warm and apparently being too hot is as bad as being too cold. Now that they are set up in their own brooder they are putting on weight and starting to grow feathers. With one I have been agonizing over it because its crop never empties completely (and everywhere on the internet I've read that's a death sentence as it leads to sour crop). But I've now stopped worrying about it and so far he's been absolutely fine, because otherwise he's not getting fed often enough to get the correct nutrition.

We also have chicks hatching in the aviary. One is a surprise as it's a lutino. It should be a pearl pied lutino so it will be very pretty. But that pair have 8 more eggs in the nest! I'll have to take the older ones to finish because I know all the other eggs are developing and that's just too many babies.

The local petshop would love some hand reared cockatiels to sell (they can have the more common colours and I'll sell any special ones myself) and they also want some quail, so there are quail eggs in my incubator.

Now I'll just go and catch up on what you've all been up to. :frow

Here are my 3 little slightly stunted babies. They are really starting to put on some weight so I'm sure they'll catch up to where they should be. The oldest one should be fully feathered by now and the youngest should at least be covered in pin feathers. The youngest one is not from the same pair as the other two as it's far too grey. The older two look like they'll be mostly yellow with only a small patch of grey on one shoulder. They are Cracker, Jingle and Jangle. Jangle is the youngest and I often call him a little bulldog as he yells even after he's been fed and he will almost savage the other two trying to get them to feed him more!

Here are the 2 little babies in the aviary:

There was another egg pipping when we checked on them this morning so there will be a third baby soon. I'm hoping the babies will stop the hen from laying anymore eggs, but this pair actually have another male helping them. They tolerate his presence and let him sit on the eggs and chicks, just kicking him out when they want a turn. It's really funny.

I have another pair on eggs, though another hen was also laying in their box as well so they have a good number of egg to incubate too.

Here are the parents of the hatched chicks so you can see how beautiful these babies should be:

They are Cracker and Jingles parents too.

Are you all moved into your new home now? How's the weather been treating you?
OMGOODNESS they're soooo cute and they're going to be beautiful!!!! Glad you're feeling better, too!

So I was unpacking another box (will they ever end?) and found this old photo.

It's Easter Sunday with my grandpa, his 6 g-daughters, 2 g-sons and 1 great grand.

That's me in the front row with the sweater on, all dressed up in my Easter best :D My brother is on the far right and my little sis is in the front row looking up. I think this is the only picture I have of all us cousins together.

I love old pictures, they bring back so many memories ❤
Wow! Love older pictures! Such great memories!
I was just checking out the weather. This is right now. We are in a blizzard warning now instead of a watch come the middle of the night.

They’re such lovely birds Jae! I can’t wait to see pics of the babies when they grow out!

I loved my little guy when I had him. He and our pig got on quite well; I’d often find Ollie, the bird, perched on Hammys side grooming him.
