Hi Debby! Yes, oldest son’s friend came on Tuesday night to beat the storm. I think she goes home today. Youngest son and hubby picked up his girlfriend a couple towns over last night. Her sister gave her a ride to where she was going so she needed a ride from there. It made me feel better that she wasn’t driving alone.

We are going to my sister’s house for supper tonight. I have to make a cranberry cake this morning and the butter sauce to go with it. I’m also making my “homemade” Rhodes Texas Rolls.

Cranberry cake sounds delicious...maybe sometime you could share the recipe (I'm sure you're busy today).

It is! The butter sauce is what makes it delicious.
Apparently I thought I’d remember this as I never wrote clear instructions. I think it’s an 8 x 8 pan. I know it’s not a 9x13. The sauce does thicken after it cools and you reheat it. I like it better that way. I use the evaporated milk. I’ve never tried the half and half. I’m pretty sure I cooked it without the double boiler and just watched it. I probably simmered it for 5 minutes after it came to a boil. It’s been several years since I made it.
