The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Oh boy, I need reminding. 🤣 I'm a day ahead of myself as we are going down to my sisters in Auckland on Sunday, so I'm trying to get it straight in my head who needs what before we go. We are taking the dog and some of my babies so I'm also trying to think of all the bits and bobs I need to take. :th

I now have 2 more baby birds inside. The two that I had left in the aviary (one in each nest) were both getting plucked, which happens when the parents want the first batch out of the nest due to wanting to have the next clutch. One pair is already sitting.

One poor baby is bald on the back of its head and the other was just starting to get her back and wings plucked. It also had not been fed this morning when we went out at midday so she has just been brought in to join the chaos.

She's a little stunner (who is currently scared of everything):

I'm sure my chicken eggs are going to decide to hatch when we are in Auckland too. I do have one egg that still has a small air cell. The rest all look beautiful, except this one that looks like it's only a week in. Very weird.

We have bi-polar weather at the moment. It's gone from being very hot (record breaking in some places down south), back to cold - snow on the hills down south and just cold and windy up here. I wouldn't mind if we were getting some rain with it, but it's just grey and blustery.

The kids want to bake some biscuits to take on Sunday so I'd better get on with that before my next round of feeding. :frow

It's always so fun to hear about your little birds Jae! Will your sister be taking some of your babies?
