Bite your tongue! Don’t give anyone any ideas :gig
I really hope it’s not horrible this year, we really need a break. You and us! Or at least a good monsoon season to give us some water and cool it down a little bit.
It would be nice to have a normal summer!

Each year has been hotter than the last for at least 5 years here.

Good afternoon all, I was able to keep the a/c off until after work today :yesss: It was only 81 in the house at 2 PM and I have the air set at 78. Not bad, it’s about 90 outside. I have a new pantry organizer to put together and and fill up, have a great evening all!

We’ve had a bit of a roller coaster here. Last summer and the year before we just horrid! And a few earlier we had a rough one too. We didn’t get a great snowpack this year or much rain so far so drought conditions are pretty serious and I’ve been hearing a LOT about water rights lately in the news. I recycle all the duck water for my shrubs and trees

The biggest impact here is water allotments for farming. They are very low currently. I think in the 25% of normal delivery range.

It is hard to farm here without water from either the ground or surface. We do not get rain in the sprig and summer. Fall is hit and miss. Pretty much near 0 rainfall from April to mid October

Yes they’re talking about less water for farmers here too. The trouble is, if the crops don’t get water then nobody eats. People with grass need to do away with it. Not all grass but I don’t find front lawns useful because nobody uses them. Put it where you’ll use it.

I have not seen water limits for those of us in the city yet. During the last drought, we were limited to two days a week for watering our lawns. They could use the meters though and limit gallons per day or week.

Wow, that still quite a bit of water they allowed, that’s all I give my yard but if there’s runoff it goes to shuns. The community that I live in gives rebates to homeowners who xeriscape their yards and get rid of their grass. We have a small patch for the dogs but it’s not much., although I do have a veg garden.

When my parents lived in Denver, there was one summer in particular where water was being strictly rationed. That was the summer my parents were gone and had a neighbor watch their house. Dad had asked the neighbor to be sure the sprinkler system only ran once a week. 3 months later when they got back home, Dad found out the neighbor had messed with the sprinkler system and it was running once a DAY. Dad wasn't very happy with the fine he had to pay.
