I'm so sorry Cynthia It's been a long hard road for both of you. I'm glad the kids are there to lend support to you and from you to them.

Star Thistles go away if you water and mow so not much of a problem in a yard but terrible in fields and orchards. I imagine drip irrigation can make it worse.

You know it's hot outside when your eyeballs sweat

We're at 97* and it's too hot to sweat. I popped outside to check on the chickens and my crazy neighbor is mowing his grass...that's boy's going to give himself heat stroke.
