I have to tell you folks this one . Yesterday at around 6:00 we had a bad storm it knocked the power out . I had a dozen eggs in the incubator on day 20 , one external pip . So the incubator went dead . I was angry so close but so far . I went and heated a big pot of water and covered the incubator and pot with blankets . The power came on around 5:00 this morning so I went out to check . I'll be, the pot was still warm, One chick hatched 4 more pips .

Great save on the eggs Mark. I wasn't as fortunate. Water pump quit sometime on day 19 and the humidity alarm didn't sounds. Day 23 looks like they all died in the shell.

Went in, hung a right, went to the far wall and .... chest freezers????? WTH? The hearing aid center has ALWAYS been there. Went to the eyeglass section in that area and asked. HA area has been moved next to the pharmacy.


SUPPOSEDLY you can make a deterrent with onion and jalapeños. You can have my package of peppers. Bought them one day, trapped the adult skunk (that I had never seen) overnight before I made the "juice". Moved it to the woods, found 2 of the juveniles dead in the barn and never saw the other two again.

Interesting on the jalapeño and onion. We have not seen the skunks on camera for a couple days. We trapped one of our cats last night. He was pretty scared when I opened it up. I hope he learned to stay away from it.

Supposedly he sprays according to wind direction, as in he doesn't spray if the wind is blowing toward the houses. But who knows. I've never smelled it, if that's any indication

Around here if they are spraying by airplane it’s for bugs on crops. I never smelled anything either but I swear the tires skimmed the top of my house as he flew by last summer doing the neighbors field.
