The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Mine is a Nissan too. I have to say that it has been a relatively great car. I have almost 200,000 miles on it and it has never given me any problems.

I really appreciate the laugh, honest. I spent the whole day in the ER with my MIL. She fell again, and apparently hit her head this time.
She has a hematoma on her brain. We will know tomorrow whether it will have to be drained. They told me that she has apparently hit her head several times in the past, because she has had healed contusions.
Fortunately, the step daughters are coming in tomorrow to sit with her for a while.
In the meantime, I've brought her 17 year old cat home with me. I'm having to keep her in a seperate room because she has a bad hip. I'm afraid one of the other animals might injure her.

I hope the situation works out, so that she is safe and feels content. It is so hard to lose one's independence.

I hope you have a fabulous visit.
multiple head trauma is not good! Is she showing signs of CTE? https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...c-encephalopathy/symptoms-causes/syc-20370921

I would say that she is. She has been growing progressively more forgetful, but as she is in her 80s, and not knowing about her falls, we believed it to be age related.
When she fell this week, she swore that she did not hit her head, but when she said she had neck pain and wasn't able to eat, I insisted on an exam. She was surprisingly cooperative. That signaled that something was up too.
I believe that she has been hiding her falls/ injuries because for the last year, we have been trying to encourage her to sell her home and move into a senior living complex or live with family.
She is a very independent, twice widowed lady. She raised her sons alone, and on a secretary's salary, with very little family support. I admire her very much. I know that growing old has been rough on her. I'm assuming that she will be open to living with us, once this issue is resolved. I'm being optimistic about the situation.

I have a good camera. I love the 'action' mode.

My cockatiels are laying eggs and one pair is sitting already. Can't wait to see what hatches out this year. But then I'll be really busy as I'll be hand rearing most of them to sell. I already have people waiting.

Still no new lambs.

Hi Jae, looking forward to seeing some of your little bugs! It's amazing how they change as they age.

Morning Janie, I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope things work out well for her and all of you. :hugs
