The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Are candles the only thing that bother you or are there other scents? I have an extremely sensitive nose. Laundry soap is a huge one for me. I got a free sample with my new washing machine that I used on the guys stinky work clothes. It is so strong that it will probably take a couple washings to get out. I usually use unscented. Many other scents bother me too.
Not just the candles. I used to be able to walk down the cleaning products aisle in the grocery store 20 years ago. Can't do it now and breathe at the same time. I don't know if something changed in me or if it is just more and more and more "if it doesn't stink, it isn't good" additions to most everything. Gotta have those scented candles, gotta plug some stink generator into the wall. I think natural fragrances are safe, it is the man made ones that cause pain. We are pretty much fragrance free in this house. "Unscented" often means they cover up one scent with others such that the combination doesn't "smell" but it will still cause pain to susceptible people because the chemicals are still there.

When we bought this house it came with a washer and dryer. No matter what DW did she could NOT get the stink out of those machines. We finally gave them away and bought new ones.

Way back when people thought bathing was unsafe they used lots of perfume to cover up their stink. Now they buy stink to cover up smells in the house or to create them.

Folks, clean doesn't smell! ;)

You've got a zoo over there :p how many different animals do you have?
Definitely a zoo (some days a circus)!

I'm animal mad and we have chickens, muscovy ducks, cockatiels, a few finches, a pair of Bourkes parakeets, quail, sheep, cows, a rabbit, a dog, and 3 indoor cats.

Still waiting on Clara to give birth. She looks so big and uncomfortable and I'm sure she's got 2 in there.

Hi Jae, poor Clara looks like she's about to bust...hope there's a baby or two soon!

Good morning y'all! Happy Sunday.

My Mom-in-law was discharged yesterday evening, and is here with us. She is dehydrated and still disoriented. She can't get up and back in the bed without help, right now.
I'm not sure what I'll do about my part time job. My husband can't help her in and out of bed and to the bathroom. One of the daughters will be here today, while I work my 6 hours. Another one may be able to come tomorrow, but then I work Wed. and Thur. too. I really want to keep this job. I guess we will wait and see how it goes. I'm hoping she will be a lot better today.
Those of you, who pray, please do so for her. Those of you, who don't, please send positive thoughts and good vibes our way.

Good morning Janie. Why did they release her if she is still dehydrated? Praying for the best outcome for your family and you are able to keep your job.

Hope your mom-in-law gets past this ok Janie. Is it possible to have some at-home nurse aide come in to help out? I have no idea how much something like that cost, or if it's covered by Medicare maybe?

I'll keep you all in my prayers :hugs
