The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yeah, there is a history between her and her boys. Talk about drama. My husband's brother does not speak to or visit his mother.
There is a daughter, who is younger than my husband, who was given up for adoption at birth. The sons didn't know until they were adults. She was adopted by Mil's cousin.
The sons are very resentful that mother gave her up. (She was a single mother to the boys at that time, and says she was raped. They think she was a surrogate based on a number of things, from that period in their lives.)
They try and stay in touch with their sister. MIL does not acknowledge her or her children. She has met them, but wasn't interested in a relationship. It's sad. I don't understand it, I'm very pro grandchildren, but I try to be a good daughter-in-law just the same.
I feel a little sleazy discussing this, but it feels nice to tell someone the background.

Thanks, DMC. We actually have a large private pond. Just one more reason for you to get that RV on the road!
🤣
So I can park it on your pond  I would love that!
And after DMC visits Texas, she can drive that RV over to Florida! She'll be more than ready for some of that MN chill
I would actually love to come to Texas and Florida. If I come, my sister will probably come with. You guys wouldn’t be able to handle the both of us though(and we would fly)

:frow Good morning IM, have a great day... So sorry about the family drama :hugs :hugs As for Gas prices my last fill-up was $53.

:frow Good morning Janie, have a great day... Hopefully your MIL will settle down :hugs

:frow Good morning DMC, have a great day
Thanks Bob, you have a good one too!

I might have been at roughly $50 to totally fill up, I still had a quarter tank.

Then it is the administration's fault that she is in a position of authority over others. She shouldn't have that job and probably doesn't like it anyway. They should let her be a superb nurse and put someone else in charge of personnel assignments. Serious case of the Peter Principle there.

I would be on his side of that discussion. MIL really needs professional support and her dementia isn't going to reverse.

How many days a week and could they make it a few days at 6-8 hours instead?
10 miles isn't really a very long commute (distance-wise anyway). DW's work week is 5.5 days, 38 hours and she drives 70 miles round trip.

Castor oil! While I personally do not need it for that purpose, that is its main medical use.
I totally forgot about that . I'll be very lucky indeed if they listen.
My mother would have tempted me with my favourite fruit too follow or put her foot down, either way the deed would definitely be done :D. No one argued with my mother, she very rarely got tough but to protect us or for our healths sake she was a different lady.
How old is your DH? I'm thinking they are wrong.

With regard to the price of gas, I wonder if anyone is now thinking that 25 MPG (or far less) SUV in the garage was a mistake.

Puhleese! You haven't met my oldest daughter. If we can handle her, we can handle anyone.

It is a part time job, so I'm not married to it. I only work a few hours 3 days a week, to fill in for another employee who works a second job. I've only kept it, because I'd feel bad for leaving them.
Well, not that kind of conception. They just think she had a baby with her cousin's husband, so that the cousin could have a baby. She came into a bit of money during those years, and the cousin and cousin-in-law adopted the baby girl.
I agree with my husband that she needs professional care. I'm just prone to feeling sorry for her, when she texts me, with complaints.
