I wanted to tell you I lost two swan eggs due to the freezing weather. The female laid two eggs and the male was trying to keep them warm for her, but the cold was so cold he got up to meet me with the food and he had an egg froze to his feathers at the base of his neck. She may lay more when it warms back up and stays warm.

Sorry to hear that! I hope she'll lay some more, it would be terrific to see some hatch.

Omg! I paid $52 for that little bag of food. Mercy. They better eat it! Mine love fancy feast in the cans and Rachel Ray's dry food.
The storm blew right over us. We did get a good bit of rain early this morning.

That's so sad. Poor dude, poor girl, and poor potential swanlettes. What are baby swans called? Is there proper terminology for male and female?

The male is the Cob the female is the Pen, and the little ones are Cygnets. This male takes good care of his lady friend he will set on the eggs so she can take a break to eat and clean up. I am sorry for the interrupted conversation but a lot going on.

Our vet is a lady also she owns the property across the road from us about 200 acres. Her house is on a different road.
