The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Oh, no! I feel awful for her….sending prayers!!
:frow Good morning Blooie, have a great day

Been on the phone almost all morning getting an update on my mom. She has to stay in the physical therapy place for another 2-3 weeks and she is not happy. Can't blame her, it's always more comforting to be home.
Sending prayers as well.

On a lighter note...

Hey all you Scrabble lovers, today is National Scrabble Day!

I'd play a game with my cats but can you imagine what a mess they'd make of the game board?

I'm sorry 😞 I know it's tough on her. It's tough for you too, not being nearby. I hope she puts her all into rehab.

Sounds like an easy win, and an opportunity for a margarita! Have two. You won't even notice the mess.
I’m all over that!!! Ken and I love to play Scrabble, and you all know how I feel about a good Margarita. Heck, even a bad margarita is still better than a scratched itch!

AAAAND - ta da…I can have one now, and yes, with extra salt!! Had my labs drawn today for my nephrology appointment next week and my sodium was low. I usually limit salt because of the kidney disease, but she’d told me last time when my sodium was low that I might be overdoing it a bit - and that my body needs some sodium. So she said to increase my intake just a a bit. Well, this set of labs showed another drop in sodium. <snap…..shucks and darn> Means more salt!!

But the big news was my GFR - all the way up to 37! I can’t believe it! I’m so darned happy right now!! At one point I was down to 19, and 15 is when they start talking dialysis and/or transplant! Transplant is out. I probably couldn’t handle the procedure at my age and with my other issues, and there’s no way I’d take a kidney that was a match for me away from a matched, much younger person with a long life ahead of him/her anyway. And dialysis is out. I watched my beloved sister Linda go through that for 4 years and I can honestly say that I couldn’t do it. So my only option was to try to restore at least some kidney function and then maintain what I have left. And I‘m didding it!!

I’ll take a frozen Margarita with extra salt, please, and let’s play scrabble!!
