I was just doing my June calendar and it’s only a few weeks to the solstice. Our summer temps will be here soon and I’m dreading that.

My husband actually sounded like himself again now that we have some sort of plan.

That is great. Having a path forward definitely helps one's outlook.

Well, I’ve done it….threw my hat into the ring for town council. It’ll be my second time serving if I’m elected.

Good morning, Blooie, that sounds interesting. I look forward to congratulating you, on your win.

We’ll see. It’s hard to run for an office when you genuinely like and respect the people currently serving…..can‘t criticize the job they’re doing and any one of them would be right there anytime someone needs a little extra help. This election is no different - all 4 seats are up for election, two of the incumbents are on the ticket for re-election and the other candidates would be great choices too.

Probably, Bruce. But I haven’t had Kendra full time for a few years now, and there are no more Littles for me to take care of. I’m currently on Planning and Zoning again, for a second term, but that just hasn’t been enough to fill my time. We were so active and busy when the grandkids were little and during Ken’s years in the Grand Line that I didn’t have time to sit on my hands. Then we had the flurry of moving out of the old trailer and into this beautiful new home. Now sitting on my hands seems to be all I do. I need a new challenge….a job to do….and I loved my previous term on the Council. So why not? Cowley is a fantastic little community and has done so much for our family. Why not take those empty hours and serve?

In my mind it has Not that I want it to get any hotter, but it usually does. We’ve had record breaking # of days over 110 over the last couple of summers. The worst of is the heat island, no overnight cooling so it stays in the 90s.
