The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone.
@riss I'm glad your mom is ok.
@dmc I'm glad you got a great contractor, but I wish you could get it all completed sooner.
Hi Blooie! Just skim over them.
@Blooie yep. That's what I'm doing! My attention span isn't up to par today. I think our 9 yo boxer has sundowner syndrome. We never get enough sleep anymore and she sleeps until noon.

Good morning Janie, me too…but we’ll get there. It’s teaching me patience.:th

It will be a long time before clean up is done. There is just so much damage and mess. We got all the stuff that was thrown everywhere picked up. We still have several large trees that went down that need to be taken care of…3 in my backyard. It’s too wet right now to get back there. There are many huge rootballs that need to be taken out. We need a large excavator for that. Ours is too small for the job. I’m not sure when things will get started. The guy that is doing most of it has a shingling job to do first and I think he’ll be out after that. The new shed won’t be put up for at least a year. That contractor is so busy cuz he’s good and we are on his list.

Hi Bob, you also!

Hi Sour!
Recovery does take time, at least you’ve got a good contractor. I’ve lived in tornado alley. One day school was let out early because of them and Mom had to pull over at some random house on the way home from town so we could go in the basement and wait one out. Lots of people stopped there actually. Scary business for sure.

@igorsMistress have you heard anything more from Debby?
No, since her phone doesn’t work at home she has to go to town to make calls or get messages. Her stuff won’t be delivered until possibly mid June and her computer is with the rest of the household items. She actually said, “may or may not be delivered mid June,” so who knows lol. She did say she’ll return though!

Good morning. So many posts to catch up on I’ll never manage!!
:frow Good morning Blooie, have a great day

I’m glad there were early warnings for this storm. I actually put all pictures and important stuff like baby books, password book, etc. in totes and stuck them in the corner of the basement. When the sky changed it was fast. I took this picture and then we went to the basement. A couple minutes later it hit.
I’m glad that people let others into their home to wait them out. I had a couple friends that were on the road and had to do that. Scary business!
