A tax refund from 2020. You read that right. A tax refund!
Better your letter than mine! We got one yesterday saying we owed money .... including a whopping 60% penalty on $325, plus interest. Near as I can tell they applied my 2022 Estimated payment in April to 2021 (which may be my fault for not realizing the form they sent was for 2021, not 2022). But what did they do with the $325 larger check I mailed to pay the taxes owed?? Seems like I've overpaid by > $4,000!!!!!

I have to call them, I dread it.

Also getting a letter today from the VT dept of taxes. We got one last Saturday saying we owed them money. But I checked my statements and somehow they didn't register the estimated payment in January. But the money came out of the account. Not sure I trust the online payment process. I emailed an explanation Sunday as to why they were wrong, never heard anything. Hoping someone sent the email to the right place and this letter says "oops, our bad".

Good morning. Busy day again today. Two crippled up old people probably shouldn’t be setting fence posts and putting up fencing, but that’s our day today. We set the posts yesterday, today we stretch the fencing. We’re fencing off a portion of the yard just off the utility room door so the dogs can go in and out there instead of coming in through the whole house with their muddy feet.

That sounds like a great way to relax and get things off your mind. Enjoy, and don’t forget we need pics!
I had to clean it first. I can’t believe how dirty it gets over the winter and we shed it. I need to wash windows yet…I’m pacing myself:lol:I only take pictures if there are pretty sunrise/sunsets☺️

I went to bed early and woke up at 7:30 thinking it was morning. Once I realized it was PM I went back to bed.

:frow Good morning DMC, have a great day

Sounds like hard work!

I am judging a contest today and have signed up to host the canning and preserving contest for our second annual summer fair series!

There will be a lot of contests so along with hosting, I will be judging a lot of contests too.
That's awesome.

How did it go?

I think I quoted too many times because now the quote box is full. Is there a way to only add so many at a time?

They're so pretty!

:lau

good mooooorning Janie 💜

Exactly! I know last time I used it, I searched for my SIL and it showed the amount and reason for sending money to so-and-so, which is also visible.
TMI in my opinion

I read that, too.

I did not know they were native - learn something new.

Good luck Ron!

I had no idea! If I ever live out in the country, I would love to plant native plants.

Hope you have fun DMC!
Hi Mad 🦋 I don't use the quote because I'm prone to hitting it by accident, and they build up. Also they show up in random threads when I reply 🤪
I just use " reply" instead.
Good morning, Blooie 🦋
That's awesome.
Hi Cynthia. I hope life is treating you great.

I'm not even going to say how much they collected from us. The check had a lot of 0s & we were very unhappy. The bright side is, now that we are both living off retirement, our income tax bill should be a whole lot less.

Says the lady who multi-quoted 4 posts ;)

As will your disposable income!

I used reply rather than quote. 😆 you can tell because all those posts were from this thread.

And yes, my disposable income has plummeted, but so have my expenses..especially the amount of gas that I use. The 11 grandkids will no longer get extravagant gifts. I think I can live with that. 😉 I might give them all a pet rooster for their birthdays.
