The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We have cut back on watering.
It seems like we are a low enough water user that they are not going after us.

There are some commercial and even ag users of City water that can make a huge difference in the total water savings here.
But we need ag to eat and feed the animals we eat. Are they just wasteful about it? Here I haven’t ever seen a sprinkler in a field, they all flood irrigate and don’t typically let it run off. The sad part is that agricultural areas will probably be replaced with more people.

I know but Ag is not usually a City water user.

The big Commercial user is the Pepsi bottling company.

Most Ag users here had their water cut to less than 20% of their allotment from the lakes and reservoirs. There were also more than 100 dry wells in the county.

The Drought is terrible!

Oh yes, the bottled water companies, it’s such a shame.

I wasn’t aware that ag doesn’t use city water resources. Thanks for that info.

The news here has been full of stories about cuts to various things but it doesn’t seem to be quite as urgent as I would expect. I can’t believe households aren’t under the same restrictions here that you have there. I even saw the splash pad come on at the park which surprised me. It’s crazy to me.

Our guy started work for the patio today. He’ll start pouring cement on Wednesday. It’ll take tomorrow to finish whatever he’s doing in the hole and framing up for the cement slab under our back deck.

The Fountains at UC Davis have been empty for a couple of years now.

I know! When I saw the forecast, I had to make sure I was seeing the correct location.
It is lightening and thundering here, but radar shows it missing us once again. Disheartening.
They are! The tweenager avoids the shower at all cost.
Just doing his part to conserve.
