The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Oh my goodness..they are 40 minutes down the road from me. Whenever I go to home depot (without diabetic hubby) I always stop in.
Best cookie selection anywhere. Their apple fritters and iced coffee are fantastic too.

LUCKY!!!

I might have to come visit you so we can go together Janie. I love their stuff, every Christmas growing up we always had a Collins Street Bakery fruitcake!

OMG, apple fritters :drool you're killing me.

Come on!
They have awesome Christmas displays. Cook books, cookie jars, bread boxes, filled cake tins, and such. I always shop for my best friend there.
Occasionally we have lunch there. They have a nice soup and salad bar. They actually have two locations in Corsicana. One near downtown, and the other nearer to us.

Thanks Sour, once I found out what the deal was with the old guy, I felt sorry for him. It did scare me a bit when I was home by myself with a stranger trying to get in the house. If it happens again, I know where to walk him back to.

It made me think of the time last winter when that crazy drunk woman showed up in the middle of the night at the Casper house, banging at the door because she thought someone was going to kill her.

Am I just a magnet or what?
Apparently

That sounds like my idea of a great place to shop (and I'm speaking as a non-shopper)!

So I got home from the grocery store when there's a knock at the door. I opened it to see some old guy I've never seen before and he wants in the house to see some building in the back yard. Kind of spooked me, he kept yanking at the door which I had already locked. First off, I'm not letting a stranger in my house and second, there is no building in the back yard. I got the impression he was lost and confused. But he kept coming back and knocking at the door so I called the sheriff to come out.

In the meantime, DH gets home for lunch and talks to the old dude and the guy's wife who showed up. Apparently they live a couple doors down, the old guy has Alzheimers and he was mad at his wife. The not-so-happy couple end up walking home.

By then the sheriff's deputy came out and we talked to him. He thanked me for calling. He said last winter a woman with dementia wandered away from the housing development that is around the golf course and it took them 2-3 days to find her in the woods (deceased).

And that's my exciting story for the day. The end.
I am happy that this story had a happy ending!
