The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I hit my head again! I'm such a glutz.
I was cleaning a litter box and started to stand up, banged it on the cabinet above. I said some choice words. #*#*
I'm still taking Tylenol because of the last bump.
I'm going to start wearing a helmet.
My sister in law was like, also Janie but spelled Jayne. She always slammed her head in her car door.

They can't be as bad as red hots.

Red hots are delicious too! Especially these

There is a use for red hots!

Cinnamon Apple Jelly

7 cups unsweetened apple juice
1 cup red cinnamon candies (These were hard for me to find... You can find them at Christmas and Valentines. Brachs makes them. They are called Cinnamon Imperials.)
8 cups sugar
1 box sure jell

Place apple juice and cinnamon candies into a 6 to 8 quart saucepan.

Prepare canning jars by placing them on a rack in a canner or large sauce pot of boiling water. The water should cover the jars by 1 to 2 inches. Cover the canner and bring the water to a boil. Boil 10 minutes. Remove the jars from the canner. Let the jars stand to cool slightly.... They should still be warm when you go to pour the jelly in the jars, but not so hot that you can't handle them ....

Stir fruit pectin (sure jell) into fruit juice in sauce pan with candies. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil on high heat, stirring constantly. QUICKLY, have it measured and waiting, stir in ALL sugar. RETURN to a full rolling boil and boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat. Skim off any foam with a metal spoon. Ladle quickly into prepared Warm jars, filling to within 1/8 inch of tops. WIPE jar rims and threads. Cover with two piece lids. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

YEILD... 12 half pint jars...

They look harmless after Hocus Pocus 2.
That's interesting! Learned something new.
Hi Debby, I keep a bag of candy corn in the car in the winter. If I get stuck I throw it under the tires. :lau
🤦‍♀️
My dad used to buy a ton of Brach's candy from the by-the-pound bin. I always thought it was awful 😖
I loved it when we went to Montgomery Wards. They had, not only an escalator, but a candy concession with chocolate covered cashews! My mom would shop for Christmas, while we shopped for candy. She always began her shopping right before Halloween.
That's a sweet memory. Cashews are soooo yummy.
Here's a word of wisdom, :oldnever dress your child up like a school bus on Halloween. The other kids will throw rotten eggs at them and smash their lights out. :lau
📝 noted! 🤣

Omgoodness Janie! I think a helmet would be a good idea 😂
