The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Sue, thank you! They are addicting. There are not very many left. I may make more

I fell 3 or 4 winters ago walking out to the chicken coop. I whacked my head hard…pretty sure I had a concussion. I’m sure you did also.

I take pictures on my phone and keep them in a separate album. Part of me wants to do baking professionally but I don’t know that I ever will. People around here do not want to pay for it. It is not cheap to bake and putzy stuff like cookies take forever.
You know you could sell on Etsy. It tends o attract people who appreciate the time (and cost) that go into custom creations.

For IM, whom we appreciate

I’m sure your mom will enjoy them no matter when she gets them. What are you making her?
I need to bake several dozen cutout sugar cookies. I have an order for 2 dozen for Tuesday, 2 dozen for one lady on the 23rd and a dozen for another lady the same day. I also want to do extra for work. I wish there was a way to do them fast and look nice.
I froze some peanut butter blossoms. I made peanut butter balls and ritz peanut butter crackers. I have them in the fridge. I made bugles dipped in almond bark and stuffed with an MM. I hid a container in the cupboard. I’m making Oreo Bon Bons this week.

Yeah, what Janie said!

Hi Janie, not yet. When I was younger I could whip it out in no time. It’s hard to stay focused. I read and then go do something, then read and blah blah blah…It’s a vicious cycle

I've never seen the Bugles done that way, they're cute (and they have to be tasty).

My baking will have to wait until tomorrow. A trip to the post office to get some flat rate boxes and a trip to Walmart already took several hours. But mom will end up with pumpkin bread (2 loaves), some cookies (not sure what kind yet) and some of that no-bake Rice Krispie treat thingie I made last week (a fresh batch). I also picked up a couple of things like Andes mints to fill the empty corners in her box. And a card for my nephew that lives with her with some $$.

When I lived in Tennessee, my mom would send me an orange jello cake every year for my birthday. One year I opened it and it was full of ants! The next year she and my dad decided to visit and bring me my cake. It snowed so much that they had to get a hotel room on their way to visit. They were snowed in for two days. My dad ate half my cake. (I didn't mind. I was so happy to see them!)

That so nice to have that memory of your special birthday cake Janie (and you were lucky you got 1/2 of the cake  ).

They are good…the sweet with the salty.
I’ve never sent food through the mail. I’m afraid it wouldn’t fair so well. You obviously have good luck with it.
