The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I've never made a corned beef. Is it difficult?
Horribly difficult, do not try it at home!
Toss the beef in a big pot, cover with water, empty the spice packet in.
Bring to a boil, simmer 2 hours
Add potatoes and carrots, simmer 15 minutes
Add the cabbage, simmer 15 minutes.

See? Horribly difficult, nearly impossible!! ;)

If one likes corned beef I think the hard part would be finding it other than around St. Pat's Day.

He said, "Pa, I just tell myself that I'm better than them."
And then he proves it true :D
I wonder why they don't use him as a primary pitcher.

Thank you Debby! Nothing special. Just old(er) and more creaks and groans.
I felt the same way a week ago ;)
Happy birthday Tonya

Look how big my Christmas present has gotten!
Looks to me like Skittles and Bella have stolen your present!

Walmart makes me crazy!
I went last week, no craziness other than the price of the prescription I was picking up for DW's 16 Y/O cat. 100 pills, $211.00

No she's not
Neither is DW or DD2 so it's MINE ALL MINE!!!! 3 foil packages of "New England Boiled Dinner" in the freezer :D

Glad you survived your Wal-Mart trip Janie!

Have you seen those commercials where Wal-Mart compares the cost of a meal from last year to the same meal items this year? They are almost identical prices. How the heck do they do that...my grocery bills aren't the same even for the identical items!
No way that it's the same, unless they're smaller portions! I did notice that a two pack of butter (32oz) has gone down almost a dollar.

Hi Bruce, you're right...I best not try the corned beef at home and just leave it to the professionals

That's why I went so early. Most people don't pull their kids out of bed that early on a Saturday. I love kids, but I don't love seeing entire families in the aisles.
Yeah totally understandable! Ours was a lot of couples today lol but a lot of families too. Almost ran into a couple people. And sometimes there were jams in the aisles lol

These pets are getting expensive! (Of course they are worth it)
Our oldest dog is 10 now, and boxers don't have a long life expectancy. We said no more the last time, when we lost our 11 yo, but we adopted an adult boxer. He is 6 now. I hope we stick to our word this time.

I’m always amazed how cheap Brew’s vet is. He didn’t even charge us for his pain meds or a separate anesthesia charge or anything like our previous vet would have.

Hang on to that vet! The one I take my cats to starts charging the moment we walk in the door (but they're good so I don't want to change).
