I’m always amazed how cheap Brew’s vet is. He didn’t even charge us for his pain meds or a separate anesthesia charge or anything like our previous vet would have.

Say WHAT????? I can see maybe not charging for their time (though I've never had it happen) but the price of the meds and anesthesia?

Hang on to that vet! The one I take my cats to starts charging the moment we walk in the door (but they're good so I don't want to change).

We will! He’s great! Our previous two vets were the same way. Charge for every little thing. Our last dogs neuter took longer than they thought I guess so extra half hour of anesthesia on the bill. And neither of those two would’ve dispensed pain meds for free lol granted it’s only two pills (half once a day for 4 days) but still. It was only $382. Neuter itself was $280 and then I opted for the microchip ($40) and heartworm test ($59) plus a $3 medical waste disposal fee apparently. So I guess SOME stuff there is expensive like the chip and test but overall pretty reasonable ESPECIALLY considering every other vet my dad talked to wanted $600+ for just the neuter without any of the extra tests or pain meds or anything added on yet. So overall very good. And he needed the test and chip so I don’t mind paying. I could’ve said no but I wanted both. If he ever got lost, someone could just take his collar off.

Yeah he gave us his meds free and I guess the anesthesia must be included in the main neuter fee which was very cheap

That microchip fee of $40 seems very reasonable to me. When I got my 3 cats chipped while they were under for some dental work, the chips alone were $65 each.

Oh wow $65!? I was expecting it to be like $20-$30 so to me I was like lol but now I’m thinking that it’s not so bad after all.

I went last week, no craziness other than the price of the prescription I was picking up for DW's 16 Y/O cat. 100 pills, $211.00

Does VT have a prescription drug assistance program? I received a NYS prescription assistance card in the mail unsolicited. I kept it. What the heck.
Bella needed a 3 week course of doxy and the bill was $175 or something like that. I gave the cashier the card and asked her to check it.
She said "it's for a dog!"
I said, "the card states it is valid for assistance with prescription costs in NYS. Run the card!"
The pharmacist ran it and price came down to something like $35.
