The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I'm west. But grew up mostly down south. Still say it. :) Folks are catching on around here. 😄
Well then, you can say y'all! I grew up just south of Los Angeles. Y'all isn't a word used there anymore than it is used here.

Ain't THAT the truth!

And I'm SUPER hopeful this is the last move (DH has promised).
Hold him to it!!! Unless you decide KY isn't really where you want to spend the rest of your life.

I am not ruling it out. I wouldn’t mind going to Texas or Virginia either. I want to go when it’s not hot even though I have the summer off.
Um, those places are hot when you have the summer off.

I was on a flight back from Disneyland that had a cabin depressurization and dive to 10,000 feet-- Oxygen masks came down.

Needless to say, I avoid flights as much as possible....
Wow. I hope everyone had paid attention to the flight attendants when they went through the preflight safety info.

Just for Debby!

A large plane is the same, it’s just bigger and you go faster and higher
Um, no. A 4 passenger prop plane is a much bumpier ride than a commercial jet. And there is no snack/drink service.
;)

Hi Bruce, it's the whole gender neutral thing. That's why I use folks.
I gather folks is a somewhat southern thing as well. But definitely gender, and hopefully not demeaning, neutral.

I have to tell y’all I think some of my faith in humanity has been restored. My granddaughter was supposed to be in a talent show with a friend and they were going to do a duet. Said friend ditched her at the last minute and didn’t show. Hope sang a different song than intended, and it was obvious she was incredibly nervous. The parents at the show started hooting and hollering for her and swaying back and forth like they were at a real concert. Made me cry happy tears.

Good morning folks :frow

I’ve been on plenty of commercial airliners with rides just as bumpy as a small craft. Flying over the Great Lakes was not an enchanting experience. Nor is flying in a storm. :) So yeah, it’s the same, just bigger, faster and further to fall.

Hi Bruce. I've found that a southern or Texas accent is less offensive to people in general. They just get the impression that we are not very bright, and therefore must not mean to offended them, bless their hearts.
