Looked it up, apparently the name originated from the male bird's color resemblance to the coat of arms of Lord Baltimore. I guess his name is lent to more than the city in MD.

and when they graduate college, and get married, and have kids - oh, wait, ours haven't done the last yet - I wonder if they ever will?

Given I am 67, DD1 is 30 and getting married in August, I don't know that I'll see too many grandchildren graduate from college.

He says, well, it's tiny, we can try.

They love me, nice big veins, even the trainees can hit them. I have much sympathy for people with little tiny veins.

I have been as busy as a three-legged cat in a sand box.

Busy is good!

Hi Mark. Wow! We are at 55 right now.
We are in an air quality alert. Smoke from Canada moved in during the night. It woke me up and I had to close windows. I hope it doesn’t stick around long.

I hope we do not have too many smokey days here this summer!

It is very bad for lung function.

I thought I might tell you all where I have been. I bought a 7' grader blade for my tractor in Pennsylvania at the Farm and Family. The second time I used it I wanted level out some dirt and the blade bent in half. I had to drive back and take the blade back. They must not have hardened the steel. When one is by yourself all these things take a long time. I had to load it and unload it.

I am heading up to my Mom's place to install a new 4 zone mini split. I am looking forward to having help on this project! Home projects are pretty much solo.

Omgoodness, those situations always make me nervous. I wonder if they were still "learning". I took a class on phlebotomy a decade ago and realized it wasn't for me apparently it's frowned upon to apologize and ask the patient if you've hurt them.

Busy is good!

Mine are nice, just that one..and it worked! Like I said, not sure what was up. I go to this clinic every time. New people in the lab. The others never had a problem.
