That's interesting, never heard of that before.

I saw an article about gender by smell last week. It is from UC Davis.

It does not look like a good way for home breeders since it is not super accurate.

I believe it's the same story. I don't think this is something any random chicken keeper could do.

I'll bet the price of cockerels would go way up, if the hatcheries found a way to make the sniff test affordable.
There would be less "off with his head" mentality too.
