The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good grief, I woke up extra early and chatted with Marie a bit. Then wandered back to bed leaving my computer up and logged on to BYC. You all didn't hear me snoring did you?

💤
I was wondering what that was:gig
I almost had a heart attack at the store today when I checked out. I spent close to $200 and walked out with a small cart and it wasn’t even full! Nothing special either, just regular stuff. At walmart no less, it’s not even like I went to Kroger or Sprouts.
I hate grocery shopping. Things are so expensive.

I can't seem to go without spending over $300. And it's just two of us! Of course, I only go every 10 days...less if I can.

I go grocery shopping every week and I can't get out of there for under $120-$130. That's seems high to me. Also, every once in a while DH will stop and pick up a few extra things. We rarely eat out and usually have 2 meals a day at home. We've cut out a lot of snack things and I try to use up leftovers. Still, it's almost painful to grocery shop.

I tried the lemon emulsion Debby. It has a good lemon flavor. I’ll try them out on my family tonight since we’ll have a few extra bodies here. I put a smidgen too much food color in. :D

Good to know! My coffee emulsion should be here Tuesday (along with DH's Father's Day gift  ).

I'm going to use it in chocolate cupcakes with chocolate/coffee frosting for DH to take to work...after I get one of course! (I plan on using a little bit in the cupcake batter too.)

We don't do any junk, but his low carb diet is very expensive. I try to stick to mainly fresh foods and extra good cuts of meat. I could go meatless, but Jim cannot. I rarely buy any canned or prepared foods, other than olives, mayonnaise, mustard, and that sort of stuff. If I lived alone, I'd probably exist on grilled cheese sandwiches and shredded wheat cereal with bananas. 🤣
