The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I remember in the 70's coming home and saying..oh my goodness ..I spent 20 dollars at the store today! That was a lot back then. Of course hourly wage was next to nothing. View attachment 3547222

I can remember my dad coming home from the grocery store with 3-4 bags full for $20. That would last our family of 5 all week (mom fixed 3 meals per day).

I grew up in earthquake country for the most part after living on a farm for the early part of my childhood. I can’t get past the mindset of having a pantry stuffed to the gills in case of an emergency so I use canned and boxed stuff a few days a week to rotate through it. I figure a can of green beans or carrots in a stew full of fresh veggies is probably ok.
I keep dried beans and soups for emergencies. When they get close to expiration I donate and buy more.

:yesss: Used the new sink. The sprayer thing is awesome and hubs did a really nice job with installation. Can’t have the same storage setup underneath though, the new garbage disposal is bigger, scarier, with more teeth. The hands free on/off, OMG I LOVE IT! That’s seriously going to come in handy.
Picture? :D
