The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

So one of the Texas members contacted me and requested that I take their nine standard hens and their bantam flock of 2 silkie roosters and 7 hens. I encouraged them to find someone closer to them, but they haven't found anyone they feel good about. Next weekend they are driving almost 3 hours to bring me their gang and a coop. They have a new baby and are moving cross country. And here I am wondering why I'm so nice. Lord above.

Yes. It is so sad. It reminds me of all those disaster films my mother loved when I was a kid.

I always found disaster films interesting, but I'd never want to live through one in real life.

Did you ever see The Poseidon Adventure? It's still one of my favorite movies.

Something devastated my garden again!!! And I mean truly devastated it this time. Not just one plant. All 3 squashes are eaten down to practically nothing (two were pretty big and the one was recovering nicely from last time) and even most of the cilantro was eaten! Thankfully my new little baby tomatoes I planted yesterday are all fine as are the 3 big ones and my eggplants (minus one baby one that looks eaten too) but I just CANNOT stop this furry little B word from eating my dang squashes!!! I have GOT to get that fence up ASAP!! But then he’ll probably just dig under there also seems to be a direct correlation between the dog being inside all day and the garden getting eaten.

Ugh, so sorry Kelsey!

Thank you!! It really sucks. They were probably close to flowering with a bit more growth so it really set us back and really sucks. Going to Lowe’s now to find some Repels All. Should have gotten some after the first incident! Too late now I guess. I just hope the plants survive since they do still have some leaves at least.
