On a brighter note…son will be a new homeowner. There are lots of hoops to go through yet. They wouldn’t go any less. It still has to be appraised for the bank @ about $1000.00. Closing won’t be until the end of August as the family is going on a trip to Alaska.

Is there any kind of break in the heat coming up for you all?

No, we’re possibly going to break a record for the longest run of temps 110 or higher . The record is 18 days in a row, and we’re under a heat advisory until Sunday from the NWS. We’ve broken some records, tied some, in the running to break some more. We need the heat for the monsoons, but we aren’t getting any rain so it’s just hot and dry.

Don’t blame him for that! How big of a property is it? The land I mean. Is he going to grow the same crops you do?

There is no land with it. They are not selling that. It’s an 8 acre yard. He farms about 200 acres(corn, soybeans)of land that he rents from a local farmer he has worked part time for the last 10 years. Sorry pictures aren’t that great. It was a drive by photo shoot There’s a lot of stuff that needs to be done with the house but only necessities will be taken care of this year, after he takes ownership.

Today I was finally able to get hold of a surveyor and he's going to survey our yard so we can get a fence built!

I feel bad for you too Ron. Our temps aren’t normal for July. It was hotter last month.

Hi Janie, how's your day been going?

It's a going. Heat index of 107. I've hauled so much ice for the chickens that I'm ready put the icemaker in the coop.
Summer humidity has sapped me this year. I'm so low energy that I haven't even been able to keep up with BYC.
