The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Debbie, when you get let us know if you left with 5 and came home with 7
Are we two peas in a pod or what! Well, actually, that's most of us who go to these swaps...we sell a bunch, buy a couple.
We haven't had rain for a month, but wouldn't you know it did today! Holy moly when we got home, rain gauge said 1.5"! Nobody came though. And only about 6 sellers. The good news though was the Amish dude that runs it wanted our honey extractor, so we sold that at least, and ate their homemade apple fritters. It was all good!

Sounds like a good time even with the rain! Apple fritters, yum :drool Are you getting rid of all your bee keeping things and out of that?

Yes, we sold them a couple of years ago, all but the centrifuge (extractor) and bee suits.

When DH & I had our little farm in FL, we took a class on beekeeping. It sounded really interesting, but we didn't end up doing it (it's expensive to start up). What changed your mind about it?

I got scared off after finding out I was highly allergic to them, so couldn't help hubby anymore. He didn't like having to do it all himself and I didn't blame him so we sold almost all of it to the couple that were our mentors.
