The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I was wondering that too. Hubby goes to the reduced-price day-old stuff every time he's in the grocery store so a pan of 4 big cinnamon rolls (I just ate one) was $2.79 instead of $3.99. A loaf like that would be at half. We toast or nuke most everything so it's all good!

That's just a little more than what the "good" bread costs here. Of course you can get a loaf of cheap stuff for $2, but it's so stale and dry it's inedible.

I guess it's been a long time since I bought bread. I just make it and it's super cheap because I work for free

Do you do sourdough bread? Mom used to make that, and you could save the starter for like 30 decades or something. When she passed, I thought hmm, I should try it. I bought someone on eBay's starter, and it didn't go so well, so we made pancakes out of the dough and fed them to the chickens.

Is that really a $ 10 loaf of bread?

I got it for free today! They had tons of bread and pastries today. I didn’t get the pastries even though I really wanted to lol

I think that would give me a heart attack! :gig
Me too! If I survived the heart attack, I’d be pi**ed!
Same here. I have the constitution of a horse, but I've had confirmed covid 3 times. (2x after I was vacinated!)
I tested positive twice. I didn’t test anymore after that. I never vaccinated.

I don't do sourdough but @ronott1 is a whiz at it. I make brioche and several other bread types.

You should give the starter a try again.

I bake a no knead loaf once a week.
