I use Mane 'n Tail Hoofmaker. I'm allergic to a lot of lotions but that one doesn't bother me. With parrots, cats, dogs, chickens, then me typing so much, I'm constantly washing my hands or using hand sanitizer. My nails will dry out and skin winds up looking like an alligator. This stuff works!

Zinc oxide cream is great. Get the type with just three ingredients, not all the extra stuff.

Thank goodness!

We do have a generator but knock-on-wood our power rarely goes out and when it does, it's usually 1/2 hour or so tops. I love to razzle those (Facebook) who have said I'm going to kill my chickens because we heat our coop (40F). Seven years and they just don't die, hmm!

We bought our generator several years ago for "just in case," mostly for our fridge, freezer, and my computer/router, but have never used it.

Sort of like an insurance policy in a way. We'd lose hundreds if our freezer was out for any length of time. I can't get my work done without a computer/wifi, so there goes income as well.
