The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Up off and on all night. I have to take Maggie out on a leash, or else let her in the small fenced section out back. We have all gates closed but she found her way out before so we won't count on that.
Yeah, she looks athletic! One of those, if the fence isn't water-tight, she'll get out types. (Or if the fence is water-tight, she'll still get out...) Our Festus is like that. He digs under, goes over, chews through ropes and straps (aka "high quality" gate latches.) Can't keep a good girl in (as Debby put it, haha).

I hope she learns to stick around. Seems like with Festus, you just have to not give him any reason to leave! I hope you and the doggos have a fantastic Friday!

Good morning, I hope for everyone! Well I guess I am the caboose, it's still morning for a couple of hours here at least.

I don't have any Friday plans, but I hope if you all do, they go well!

Hi Jen, hope your no-plan Friday is going well! Mine is going ok, although I can't brag about accomplishing much.

Good morning everyone :frow

Good morning! I didn't forget about you, I just got hungry and started cooking some eggs. 😋 Yes, my no plans are going according to plan! 😁

Sometimes the no-plan days are just the best kind of days. Nothing that needs to be done, but a lot gets done, even if it doesn't! (Rest and recuperation count for a lot! Can't keep breaking everything down without a chance to build back up. At least that was my take-away from my Exercise Scientist days...)

I thought I turned the stove off, but it was still on 'low.' Oops. The eggs weren't inedible, just extra crispy. I was wondering why they were still sizzling so much. They kind of shrunk down, so maybe I should make some more...

We found 11 eggs in the hay tent today, not all from today, I'm sure, but it it's nice to know there won't be a shortage and the pullets we got that were born in the beginning of August should be laying soon.

A hay tent sounds like a laying hen's dream nesting box

Daughter and SIL utilized drone searches, thermal imaging, tracking dogs and every facebook group within 350 miles of her loss. No signs of her or her body leading hopefully to the possibility that someone had taken and was caring for her. Although she is microchipped, she had no collar with contact information.
It is impressive the tech out there to find missing people and animals!

🤣 It is! I'll try to get a picture of where they like to go--it's in a little cubby in the stacks of hay. Pretty much anywhere we have hay or straw stacked up of course, too.

I don't mind the Easter Egg hunts--the dogs try to beat us to them, too. I think it's cute watching them look for them.
