The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Just got my morning chores done and ready to settle down to be here. Do you have your dental appointment today?

Oh nice!!!!!! And no. I had it yesterday. They referred me to a specialist and said to call right away yesterday but the front desk person told me “it might be kind of hard to call today (yesterday) because they are closing in a few minutes (it was 11:57am. They closed at 12pm.) And they’re closed tomorrow too. They’re only open a few days.” SO of course I Googled their hours as soon as I got out of there and sure enough, they are only open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And Thursday is only 8-12. The other two days are 9-6. Plus even if they were open Mondays normally, this coming Monday is a holiday. So I have to wait to call the specialist until TUESDAY. PLUS!!!!! I have to make sure they even take my insurance first and even have any appointments available soon if they do. So yeah. It’s not good. And no I don’t have any dental appointments yet.

I agree Debby! I’m just doing my normal cupcakes, cookies and a smash cake. I’m not worried about them being perfect as they aren’t paying for them…less pressure

I don’t remember ever doing smash cakes for my kids. I made a pumpkin one for my nephew(dad of 1 year old)for his first birthday. He was a Halloween baby. He stuck his fingers in the frosting, gagged, and puked on it. He never even got it to his mouth. I hope his daughter has more etiquette then that.

Cupcakes, cookies and a cake?! Remind me to join your family next time in my next life. That sounds amazing. I promise I won't throw up on the cake. I hope it all turns out great and you enjoy your day off!

Is it still cold out there? I just did half the chores then came back inside. It's not super cold, but a little bit colder than it has been--I think it's about 18°F.

Did you find a new quilt? I wish I could get some nice ones, but our dogs shred everything up (not terribly, but they do that digging thing when they try to get cozy and some rough-housing sometimes, so I'm scared to get nice ones.)

Someone didn't leave the cat tree pretty much all day yesterday, last night and today. It's funny, though, her egg was sitting right beside her stone cold this morning (I don't think you understood the assignment....) Now there's no egg in there. Might have to run an intervention.

Hi Jen. They are always conspiring to get more peas. I can take out greens and they’ll scoff and complain until until I’m out of sight. They are fun though, tons of personality.
