The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

So I tried to make chicken salad out of the remaining chicken last night (not the pepper and onion one, I still had a bunch in a separate bowl) despite having already put taco seasoning on it because I figured pulled/shredded might be easier for me to eat and my dad had said the taco seasoning might be good in it. So I decided to try it. Well, that was a complete and utter disaster!!!!!! Total failure. But hey, that’s why they call them EXPERIMENTS, right!?!?!?!?! :lau:oops:

What happened was the chicken was very hard/tough for some reason and I couldn’t get it with my fork even with mayo added so I brilliantly decided to try my blender which also has a food chop setting. Did. Not. Work. No matter what setting I tried it on (Food Chop which is even pulses or just regular blender on low, medium, or high which I tried all of them) it just got stuck and Would. Not. Grind. The. Chicken. Up. So I turned it off. Then the tiny part it did sort of grind got stuck in the blades which was a disaster too. So I got what I could out and put it all back in the bowl and tried by hand again with two forks. It was still too hard. I gave up and put it back in my fridge and there it sits. And the blender is soaking. But I did taste some of the mayo taco seasoning mixture and that did taste good so at least there’s that LOL but yeah. I need one of those egg slicer thingies with the multiple rows of blades that just slices stuff into the perfect size little cubes hahaha or maybe I should try one of my knives instead of just a fork??????? IDK. LOL but all I know is the blender was a complete and utter failure. And I also have tried it for egg salad once too and that one actually worked but it also got stuck in the base and I couldn’t get any of it out and wasted a ton of it so that one was a failure too. So idk why I thought this one would be any different. LOL
I haven't had problems with tough/stringy chicken until recently. We've been cooking some (bought from different places I'm pretty sure) for our dogs that you almost literally can't cut through. Never experienced chicken like that in my life before. It's not old, never been frozen, either.
