The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I hope everyone is having a nice Saturday and it stays that way! It's a bit overcast here, but tolerable.

I put all the sheep together the other day. I had to small-pen the boys up first (and one of the girls who got in there with them before I could get the fence up) because they were being spicy (headbutting each other.) But after the boys re-acquainted themselves again, I put everyone together and this morning and goshdarn Ewedini was on the wrong side of the fence again.

At this point, I don't even care if she is in lamb. She might need to leave.

Hi Jen, that's a perfect name for an ornery girl...Ewedini

Do the dogs help round the sheep up?

I haven't had problems with tough/stringy chicken until recently. We've been cooking some (bought from different places I'm pretty sure) for our dogs that you almost literally can't cut through. Never experienced chicken like that in my life before. It's not old, never been frozen, either.
Maybe it’s something new lol mine had been frozen though but still.

Yeah, no unfortunately I didn't train our Border Collie cross. He would have been keen to, though. The sheep are all fairly bucket trained, or will follow the hay wagon well enough, but a dog would have been way more efficient I'm sure.

I do have a few friends that train them, though, and compete nationally. I've thought about saving up or shearing for free for them for life or work-trading somehow or something like that. It is really fun to watch the dogs work the sheep.
