I survived Monday.

I talked to a co-worker in the bus line after school. She hasn’t worked this school year and 1/2 the school year last year. Her 4th grade daughter (at the time, December of 2023)was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. She was told 3 weeks ago there was nothing more they could do for her. They gave her a month. Mom said she’s gotten bad really fast. We are hoping they close the school for her funeral. Not a funeral that I want to go to.

That's so sad about your coworker's daughter. The worst news any parent can get.

It makes a person angry. She’s so young. They figure she’s had it since she was a toddler. If they had caught it a couple years earlier she may have had a chance. The treatments are brutal.

It is terrible. The little brother is in my classroom. I don’t think he understands at all. The older sister is not doing well.
