The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Debby, Happy Saturday!
I might mix up some sourdough bread. We’ll see how my starter behaves.
How’s the rain situation?

There's not much that smells better than fresh baked bread.

It's a pretty ugly situation with the rain. Lots of flooding to the SW of us, I saw pictures of cars underwater and really bad up to the NE of us too. Louisville to the north of us has had flooding too so I guess we're sort of surrounded by it.

So far this is what we've personally had (that's the corner of our front yard). Could always be worse, I'm grateful it isn't as bad as others are going through. We'll see what happens today.

Uffda! I hope you don’t get a big wind with all that water. It will tip that tree right over.

Yikes, don't even think that! DH tried to talk me into having that stinking tree cut down a couple months ago and I didn't want to because of the cost. He wanted to remove it because he thinks it's ugly and I thought we had other priorities at the time. Hope I don't regret getting my way over that. :fl

The only reason I say that is it happened here. We lost many trees a couple years ago in the spring storms due to saturated ground and the awful winds that came through.
Is it a type of evergreen?

It is. Guess that stupid tree is another reason for me to keep my fingers crossed.

Sorry Debby.😬I love trees. I wouldn’t have removed it.
Our last big tree in the backyard started dying off last Spring, after it leafed out. Hubby wants to take it down. I want to see what it will do. There was a weird fungus that hurt many trees in the area last year due to all the rain we had. I don’t know if that is the issue, or if it got diseased because it got hurt from the storms we had a couple years ago. It could be Dutch Elm too.
