The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning to everyone.
I have to take one of the dogs, Beasley, in for his annual vet visit. He's a 70lb chunk, hates car rides, and hates the veterinarian clinic, so it will be a world of fun.

Maggie went last week. She was easy because she loves car rides, loves everyone, including the veterinarian staff. She is very expensive though. She had heartworms, and every other worm known to mankind, so she has had to have shots every month.
The cats will be going in soon too. One at a time. Brewster's annual will be coming up this summer.

Good morning, IM. I saw yesterday, that because their traffic signals weren't working, they are having traffic congestion. I was wondering where in the heck they are going, and why, with the grid down.
Hi Janie. I think those were from the day before because it went down while people were working and such.

Awe, what a handsome little fire plug!

Hi Mad, you're a busy lady! Hope the kids are enjoying their sports and the PT works well for your oldest. Are you still going to school?

I usually have a mosaic project going on. The last one I finished was a gift for my son:

Now I'm getting close to finishing one of little bird silhouettes on a branch.
Ohhmygoodness, that's soo good! You're very talented, Debby! I can't wait to see the next one.
How do you make the pieces so perfect for the spaces?!

I'm not doing school at the moment. Technically still "enrolled" but I haven't had the chance to read the required books. I wish they were audio books 😂

It was a drug posession trial and the best part was that it was short!

There is a big 10 week murder trial that started this week which I am happt to have missed
Wow, 10 weeks?!

I wonder how they select people because I know some people get a lot of jury duty notices and I've only had less than a handful of summons in the last 16 years 🤔 But i have an excusal.
Best day ever! We had an awful employee quit today. She replaced the para that just recently lost her daughter. It has been a year plus of he!! working with her. She quit and walked out the door this morning. The old para got her job back shortly after. There were a lot of happy people.
Yay to the employee quitting! And hopefully a good thing for the old para, too.

Good morning, Debby ☕️ I've been lucky and never been picked. I just need my luck to hold out for a few more years. I had to testify once in a grand jury trial, a murder.
I was nervous, and It wasn't very exciting.
I really knew nothing. I worked with the accused young man's mother and I am pretty sure Perry Mason would have objected on the grounds of "heresay your honor".
He, her son, was a psychopath. He was adopted at age 7 and had been in and out of mental services his entire life. I only had knowledge of the times she showed up to work with bruises and said that he had broken into her home and beaten her, and one incident where he showed up to her work and threatened her. He didn't kill her, thankfully, but he did kill another young man and a young woman.
It was so sad that his mother cared for him so much. She sold her house to pay for his defense.
Ugh that is heart breaking. A mother's love to a fault. I can't imagine how difficult that might have been for her.

70lb of adorableness! Best of luck on that vet adventure, today. It's no fun when theyre not a fan of the whole outting experience. Hopefully he doesn't 💩
D'AWEEE!! Just a couple of dogs on an adventure.

Poor Maggie, worms are horrible. Is the injections to help get rid of them?
