The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Son just left to help a grandson and husband wife in California. They live here in Utah but do a clothes thing in California once or twice a month. They make bucks! My son and grandson are best buds. :) Plus this trip my daughter will go and help. Supposed to be a big weekend for this. A good 10 hr drive straight through.

Hope they have a safe trip Cynthia!

That has happended to me a few times doing pickup but this time was very smooth. I have gotten tomatillos rather than asparagus a couple of times. Fortunately I enjoy surprises 🤣
I almost forgot. I ordered one new cheese grater, yesterday, and got two. One was stuck inside the other. I had to use a hammer to get it loose.

That's great...two graters for the price of one

We have some new neighbors out here. They have a rooster. His crow sounds like he is whistling the opening to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I am so jealous. My roosters all just shreik and scream.

That sounds entertaining :gig

Back in FL we used to have a neighboring rooster that crowed like the theme song to that old tv show "Get Smart"

My husband doesn't drive any longer, which is good because I cannot ride with anyone else. I have developed some strange anxiety about being a passenger. I think it stems from a wreck a few years ago. I just feel the need to have the brakes on my side of the vehicle.
That doesn't stop Jim from telling me how to drive though. 🤣
I have that same affliction...🤣

Honestly, I don't see how they can make anything delivering this far out.
They also offer a membership for around $150 a year so that delivery is free. I'd still need to tip each time so I'm not sure it would be worthwhile.
As it is, I generally just order online for pickup. I don't go in the store too often because then my 1.5 hour trip turns into a 2 to 3 hour trip. I hate leaving Jim by himself so long. He is an old crippled man who loves heavy machinery and hates carrying his cell phone. He worries me to death. Lol.
Wait..don't laugh..well if ya want..I laugh at me often these days.
This, this what I meant! Not delivery, but pick up! She gets fast food delivered at times, but she picks up the Walmart orders. 😁

I like the old fashioned names too. Some of the made up names and weird spellings seem rediculous to me.
I should talk. Emily's two girls have flower names, Poppy & Violet. 🤣
My grandson and his wife stuck with traditional and named their daughter Alice.
I like Poppy and Violet.
DMC, where you be?

Hi Janie. I was being held hostage in my kitchen. I got done frosting cupcakes about an hour ago. I tried going out on the deck to read and relax but the no see ums were horrible.
I had my groceries delivered for the 1st time, yesterday. That gave me time to clean the refrigerator.
I was shocked that Walmart would deliver this far out. (We are 30 minutes from the nearest Walmart.)
Anyway, I paid $10 for the delivery and then tacked on an $18 tip so it isn't something I'll do often but I made good use of the hour I saved.
I would love to have groceries delivered. I’m too far away from one.

Looks like they're in California now. But California is big. They still have a ways to get to the place.
Thank you!
California is long and narrow so it depends on where they are going. I would expect they came in on 80? Sac is fairly close to the Nevada border.
