Is stone like granite, or different? We are midstream remodeling our kitchen. It's on hold again for the solar project, but he should get the walls and floors done this winter, then cupboards refaced, then counters. We were looking at granite, but the Menards staff showed us quartz and said it's better. However, the price tag!
I installed a quartz countertop from Menards it is awesome! 😊

The good thing about granite is that you can't scorch it. You can set a hot pan on it. Quartz will get scorch marks. Other than that they are both beautiful.

Stone counter tops are awesome! I installed granite here with a heavy duty molded plastic undersink when I did a complete remodel here several years ago! We love them both! 😊
We really love ours. We couldn't afford to put them in when we built our house, so thankful we were able to when we had to remodel.

Our countertop is a hard marble. It can etch, so not as hard as granite. They are both stone. Ours is called Fantasy Brown, with a leathered finish. Quartz is a very good product, very durable. Granite is also very durable. Get what you like the looks of. Take care of it and it will last you a lifetime. We did our remodel about 3 years ago. The counter is still just as gorgeous.
We do all of our own work, tile everything. Hubs built a 6 new cabinets and we refinished the original ones we kept. Saved a lot of money, so that enabled us to get this counter.

Quartz is stone particles set in some kind of resin if i`m not mistaken. Very smooth and very durable they are beautiful! But ours were $2200.00! We settled for a mid level set of cabinets since no kids here to abuse them! We could justify the price since I did all the work! All new electrical, plumbing, cabinet setting, drywall, ceramic tile floor and full ceramic tile backsplash! 😊

I'm pretty sure that's quartz. Granite is stone.
It's amazing how much you can save. 😊
