The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning Rene, seeing historical stuff is fun (really glad DH enjoys it too)! Bardstown has 3-4 other museums too, we didn't know they they are all closed on Mondays so we'll just have to go back again on a different weekday.

Hope your day is awesome!
Sounds like fun! We enjoy historical stuff too! 😊

We're going to head back east and do the fall color tour, some day. Saw you guys taking about Mammoth Cave, I would love to see that too.
It's always so disappointing when things are closed. But, it gives you another trip to look forward to. Glad you enjoyed your day.

Thank you. We had a good day. Went to tile stores getting ideas for our bathroom remodel.

This tile store used to be a roller skating rink. We used to skate here and the other rink in town (where we met💗). We skated 2-3x's a week on adult skating days and also bowled with a group of friends. We didn't like the wooden floor shown here as much as the other rink, but we spent a lot of hours here. Love that they didn't tear the floor up.
Fun memories.

We haven't been to Mammoth Cave yet, that might be on the list whenever my son comes to visit. This is an interesting chart I looked up once about it...according to this, Mammoth is the world's longest cave system. Looks like lots of room to get lost in.

Also, BIG shout out to you Janie, for getting a picture on the Home page!
I want to visit this cave.

Need to go check out Janie's picture! 💗

Good morning everyone!

Glad to hear confusion is a part of life for all of us, I know I cause a lot of it around here :gig

We had a great time on our day trip yesterday! We travelled over to Bardstown, KY. Saw some pretty trees, went to the Stephen Foster State Park and learned about him (he wrote a lot of songs, including "My Old Kentucky Home") and had a terrific lunch in old downtown. We also stopped by one of the places where Abe Lincoln's family used to live (everything is about Lincoln in this part of the state). The weather was perfect for being out and about.

Just a few pictures:
