The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Your granddog is a toot, DMC. She sounds like our Maggie, who gets into so much.
She drives me crazy. She has gotten better, but there is lots of room for improvement.

Very cool!
Good morning DMC.
I've always waited until after Thanksgiving. I think it was mainly because we always went out and cut our tree. But, hubs decided he was tired of doing that, so now that we have an artificial tree, this is our second and it's pre-lit, it's a whole new ball game...lol I've always done a tree with the kids ornaments, this year I've chosen a color theme for the first time. I'm really excited to get it finished. Just hope I can make it look how I envision.
And you're right, he did give the okay!😁
Post a picture.❤️I’ve never had a real tree. I’d love one. I’ve never had a pre-lit either. I’d love that too, until a section burned out. I hate stringing lights. I have 3 trees. Not sure what I was thinking, because it’s a lot of work.

Good morning all.

Good morning DMC!

Maybe you should skip the 3 artificial trees this year and try out one big real tree! They smell wonderful.

Our tree is an artificial pre-lit and that is easier than stringing the lights. And the lights are one less thing to take down after the holidays. I don't like taking stuff down and packing it away...that keeps me from putting up a lot.

I'm glad she is better behaved. It seems like the smarter and happier dogs keep their puppy behavior longer.
I mostly enjoy Maggie's personality and if I were to go back and rename her, I'd name her Joy. She is just full of it. Joy is pouring out of her all the time.

I empathize. Taking Christmas down is a real chore. I inventory as I take down the village so that I don't accidentally buy a piece that I already have (yes that has happened 🤦‍♀️) and so that I know if something has been broken and needs replacing. I have a notebook with the manufacture, name of piece, date produced, size (so I can plan next years layout) and any additional notes like chips or repairs. I might be a little nutty. Or a lot.
I've been known to skip several years putting it out and there always pieces that don't make the cut.
