Good morning - stay safe.

I get it. :old Thankfully we can still maintain our property, but the question remains for how long?
Good morning George! I can still maintain everything here too but some of the required jobs in the foreseeable future are making me wonder! The main thing for us is our house and my pole barn will need new shingles in a few years. I put the roof on our house and I built the pole barn. But I was in my 50`s then! You stay safe as well!

I'm not enjoying winter this morning. It’s 21° here. On the other hand, our springs are just a step down from summer. I'm not ready for summer at all.
That’s chilly. Our summers are too hot for me. Your summers would be the end of me.😅
It’s snowing right now. It’s actually kind of pretty. It’s supposed to get ugly around noon.

I see you're in east Texas, winter must feel pretty nice to you? I've had to replace my chicken's waterer two weeks ago as the water inside froze and cracked it overnight.
Yes. East Texas winters are pretty laughable to most people. I really enjoy winter here for the most part. Its the only season that makes me happy to have moved back home. I used to miss the snow, but as Barry pointed out, old age makes temperature extremes harder to tolerate.

Good morning, Sour. I guess that question applies to most of us on this thread. I have great respect for you and your princess. I hope you will be cautious when maintaining your property.

It is chilly, but nothing as bad as your chilly. Also, we do not get below freezing but for a few days a season. I can live with that. The summers might be an end to me too. I know that when these chickens are gone, I will never raise outdoor animals again.
(I know. Never say never. But at this moment, I mean it.)

That’s part of the reason I haven’t gotten chickens again. I hated seeing them suffer in the winter.
