I am pretty sure the cold will be here, and that's the worst part, but the snow seems unlikely. It has been pretty damp the last couple of days so its possible.

Good morning Janie! Well, if you do get a little snow it probably won't stick around for long and it can be very pretty coming down.

Like I said, have been seeing this on the news. I can't imagine the chickens being out in it. I kept my chickens warm during our cold snaps. Wait, what are cold snaps again..here in Utah..in the 40's during the day! This is crazy! You all are freezing, we're having late fsll temps.

It has been kind of a weird winter so far! Not really a fan of 0 and below temps! I built a 10 x 35 run it stays dry and I have all side walls covered with greenhouse clear plastic. Plenty of ventilation but no wind or draft on the birds. It stays at least 6 or 7 degrees warmer than the outside temp but we are expected to get down to -5 or more! I may not let them out I can keep them much warmer in the coop!

I started a new book the other day by Frieda McFadden called The Surrogate. Have you read that one? It's starting off good.
